Volunteer To Be a Class Assistant

Application Deadline: October 10th, 2024

Please read requirements and fill out the form below

Being an East Coast School “Class Assistant” is an important role and helps us present the school. As a Class Assistant, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned instructor, therefore you will be communicating with him/her to pass along ECS information, to answer their questions, and to be available for them before the event begins. During ECS you will be a student in their class, but you will also be the person on whom they can depend to run errands for them around the hotel, and to help other people in your class with the work that you are all attempting to do.

You are also required to be available on the afternoon of Sunday June 7th to help with any general school/event set-up tasks, to prepare the classrooms by setting up the tables and chairs, and the screens and projectors in teams with other class assistants, as well as be available for breakdown of the classrooms after the event ends on Thursday June 11th.
No exceptions; everyone must help on both days.

When your instructor arrives, you will need to help him/her with all of their equipment/supplies, and also help them pack up at the end of the week. You should plan to be at the hotel by noon on Sunday, June 7th, and not leave until your assigned instructor does, on Thursday, June 11th.

Being an ECS Class Assistant puts you on the ECS 2026 Committee and requires that you help with many tasks in the months and weeks that lead up to ECS. In return, you will be able to attend East Coast School for free; your school tuition will be covered by PPNC. However, you will still be responsible for your hotel fees – unless you live within 30 minutes of the hotel, it will be imperative that you stay at the host hotel for the nights of the ENTIRE event.
Your duties will begin at 8:45 am every day and our evening activities are over at 10 pm. You will need to be available to help with everything.

You MUST be available to provide transportation TO & FROM the airport for your assigned instructor, if he/she is flying in. If the instructor may not be flying home until the day after June 11th, it will be your responsibility to get him/her to the airport on that day, therefore you may need to stay an extra night at the hotel as well.

In order to be a class assistant, your PPNC membership must remain current from the time you are chosen as an assistant until the class June 8th – 11th.

Once you are assigned your instructor, you will be notified via email from Steven Melamed, the East Coast School Chair.

*If you were a class assistant within the last three years - you do not qualify to apply to be a class assistant for this year
